2023 Year in Review

Women's Rights Network Australia launched in 2023, and it has been a MASSIVE year full of activity. Australian women are finding one another, working collaboratively and displaying amazing solidarity to work together for our sex-based rights.
This post reviews some of the highlights of 2023, and showcases our collective achievements.
April
Started welcoming new members on 28th April 2023
May & June
We spent a lot of time in May and June onboarding new members getting to know each other, drafting leaflets, writing a few submissions and gearing up for campaigns.

July
Celebrated Global Women's Day on 9th July by gathering together with like-minded women
Commenced the Fair Sport for Women Campaign from 21st July to 20th August
Launched Respect Our Sex website to collate information about the NSW so-called "Equality Bill"
Reached 50 members
Made a submission to the Australian Human Rights Framework Review, July 2023
August
Made a submission to the Inquiry into probity and ethics in the Australian public sector
Our South Australian members decided to ask Julia Gillard "what is a woman?" and the result was picked up by news organisations around the globe.
Launched "Respect Our Sex" website dedicated to the campaign against the so-called NSW "Equality Bill"
Launched a Respect Our Sex billboard in Sydney, which received attention in the Sydney Morning Herald
The Fair Sport for Women campaign also launched a billboard in Sydney and in Melbourne
September
Launched Brazen Hussies social screening events
Our co-founder Jess steps down, saying "Our members are determined, capable and tenacious. I want to thank the leadership team for the incredible amount of work that has gone into WRNA so far, and what will continue to be contributed."
Wrote submissions in support of the Lesbian Action Group's application to hold female-only events in Victoria
October
Launched our new website! Visit WRNAustralia.au
Made a submission to Victorian Parliamentary Legal and Social Issues Committee ‘Inquiry into the state education system in Victoria’
Participated in #ChalkAboutIt - a global day of action for women's sex-based rights
We launched in What is a Witch for Halloween, connecting witch-hunts of yore with modern-day witch-hunts against feminists
November
Conducted research to understand what clinicians really think about AusPATH's guidelines
Wrote statements and letters regarding the Pronouns guidance in the SA Courts
December
Granted incorporated status!
Reached 90 members
Signed the Women's Declaration International and the Declaration of Biological Truth Australia
